The Cost of Studying in Edinburgh

Iman with her Acu. Do you know that the size of iris does not change after the age of 6 months? I am not sure how old she was at that time the photo was taken, maybe 1.5 year. But I remember that she could read by the age of 3, thanks to her paternal grandmother who taught her.
Let us get it straight to the point (point number one only) :

1. Tuition fee (for this semester Jan-May)
Original fee minus 20 % discount for Malaysian students (local students and Eu students below 25 years old do not have to pay)
Nett = £ 5,856 = RM 32+K
Comparatively, if she studies in Putrajaya branch, she only needs to pay half of it i.e. RM 17+ K (the yearly fee is RM33k)

From the original £ 15,080 for year 3 fee (calculated earlier on), it came to £ 14,640 when we went to Edinburgh campus last week. A huge relief for that lower amount. Since we had paid for the first semester when she studied in Putrajaya, we only had to pay half of the amount i.e. £7,320 and with an additional 20% discount for Malaysian students (the Dubai students do not get this discount), it came down further to £ 5,856 for this semester.

2. Accommodation (monthly)
Eheheh. Ermm (clearing my throat) : let us not talk about that. Suffice to state that it is double the amount I have been paying for her Putrajaya house.

3. Allowance (food, books, transportation)
(I better not disclose here too, but that amount should be more than enough for her to eat well and to have enough emergency fund for 6 months).

4. The flight tickets, temporary accommodation, the visits I will be making in the near future.

Education is not cheap at all. Alhamdulillah for the provisions and blessings granted so far. Everything has been carefully planned by The Almighty. The more we realise that faith is indeed very important in determining one’s life.

Have faith, Iman; just like your name.

P/s the title is still right. I am being open about the cost of studying, not the cost of living.
